During the tour you can cross Kamchatka from the South to the North. Driving from one climatic zone to another you will get to the central part of Kamchatka, where the largest volcanoes of Eurasia are located. You will visit one of the most interesting places for tourists in Kamchatka – Klyuchevskaja group of volcanoes, which is an area of the biggest display of volcanic activity in Russia and includes the highest and the most famous volcano – Klyuchevskaja Sopka. You will have a chance to climb the southern volcano in the group: Plosky Tolbachik (3085) and also the new volcanic cones (299m and 278m) of the Northern break-eruption of 1975. You will walk across “The dead wood”, which was destroyed during the eruption. The route lies across the plateau of about 1000 m high, via high mountainous Alpine meadows and volcanic fields looking like lunar landscape. These fields witnessed the first Soviet vehicles Lunokhod 1 (moon vehicle 1) and Marsokhod 1 (mars vehicle 1) being tested. You will visit the center of the Even national district and Bystrinsky Nature Park – Esso village, which sometimes calls itself Kamchatka Switzerland – and get acquainted with the Evens native people, their history, culture and present life. You will also have a chance to see their national holiday “The Aborigine’s Day” if you come there in proper time. You will see other unique places of Kamchatka – active volcanoes Gorely and Mutnovsky which are famous for their beauty. During the tour you will be able to bathe in natural hot springs and in thermal water pools. 1st day.Arrival at the airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (20km). Accommodation at a hotel (DBL), rest. Strolling about the city.
2nd day.Sea-tour on Avacha Bay. Watching sea birds colonies on Babushkin Kamen (Granny’s Stone) and Tri Brata (Three Brothers) islands. Short tour to the Pacific Ocean to Starichkov island. Sea angling, watching seal rookery. There is a chance to see whales, dolphins. Fresh fish soup for lunch. (5-6 hours). After the boat trip driving to Mutnovsky volcano by off-road bus (100km). Walking to the waterfall (90m high). Camping for the night. 3rd day.Ascening Mutnovsky volcano (2323m): (trekking into the crater) - 8 hours. Watching active fumaroles, mud siphons, mud craters, the crater lake. The crater of Mutnovsky volcano is one of the most wonderful volcanic phenomena of Kamchatka. Steep walls and shining glaciers surround wide and deep crater. If trekking is difficult it’s possible to return to the camp. Camping for the night. 4th day.Ascending Gorely volcano (1829m), walking along the old lava flows, slag fields, seeing 3 craters with crater lakes. (6-8 hours). Driving back to Paratunka resort area. Accommodation (DBL) in a boarding-house, rest, bathing in swimming-pools with hot thermal water. 5th day.Free day. If you want you can make a helicopter flight to the Valley of Geysers, which includes flight around Karymsky (1486m) and Maly Semyachik (1560m) active volcanoes, walking excursion at the Valley. This valley cannot be compared with any other unique objects in the world. There are more than 20 big geysers in the valley: Velican (Giant), Zhemchuzhny (Pearly), Sakharny (Sugary), Troinoi (Triple), Konus (Cone), Fontan (Fountain), Maly (Small), Bolshoy (Big), Shchel (Split) and a lot of others. There are geysers that gush forth every 10-12 minutes, while others can erupt once every 4-5 hours. The wreaths of steam, fountains of boiling water, incredible colors of slopes, hot water streaming along them and profuse greenery of grass and trees create an enchanting spectacle. Lunch is served on the trip. In the evening driving to Malky village by off-road bus (130 km). Bathing in hot springs. Camping for the night. 6th day.Driving (460 km) to the area of Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes by 6WD car. Lunch on the way in Milkovo village. Crossing the Kamchatka river (the largest one on the peninsula) by ferry. Driving to the foot of the spectacular volcanic formation of Plosky and Ostry Tolbachik. On the way in good weather you can see the highest volcanoes of Kamchatka: Krestovsky (4057ì.), Ushkovsky (3903ì.), Klyuchevskoy (4750ì.), Kamen (4579ì.), Plosky Tolbachik (3082ì.) and Ostry Tolbachik (3672ì.). The place, where the camp is located, is called The moon rovers base. Camping for the night. 7th day.Ascending Plosky Tolbachik volcano (3080 m). Trekking across slag fields and old lava flows. (7-8 hours). The ascending is not difficult. At the top of the volcano there is a huge crater (1,8 km wide, over 500 m deep). Returning to the base camp. 8th day.Driving to the Northern break (18 km). Ascending the new Tolbachik cones (tiny volcanic formations 100-200 m high). Driving to the Southern break (15 km). Visiting cones of the Southern break. You will visit the Dead Wood (the forest area covered with volcanic ashes as the result of the powerful eruption of Tolbachik Volcano in 1975) and see the tops of dry trees above the 7-meter layer of volcanic debris. Returning to the camp. Overnight stay in tents.
9th day. Driving back (150 km, 5 hours) to Esso. Excursion to the Even national village of Anavgai. Accommodation at a small private hotel (2-4 persons in a room). Rest, bathing in hot thermal water swimming-pools. 10th day. The excursion program. Visiting the Regional Studies Museum, exhibitions of souvenirs. Acquaintance with the culture of Kamchatka native people. Overnight stay at the hotel. 11th day. Visit to the Handicrafts Studio. Driving back (520 km) to Paratunka resort area. Accommodation (DBL) at a boarding house, rest, bathing in hot thermal water swimming-pools. 12th day. Visiting fish market. Shopping. Souvenirs. Transfer to the airport. The tour cost - 1300 EURO per person. Extra payment for accommodation in a single room - 170 EURO. Helicopter excursion to Valley of Geysers (paid on the spot): around € 500; with Uzon Caldera around € 525 per person. Included: 1. Full board for the tour. 2. Guide services for the whole tour. 3.
